TRICERATOPS GULCH PROJECT DIG

TRICERATOPS GULCH PROJECT DIG

+ 5-DAY POST-DIG EXTENSION

SUMMER 2025 | WYOMING & COLORADO

MORRISON NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM | GLENROCK PALEONTOLOGICAL MUSEUM

The Triceratops Gulch Project dig isn’t some sanitized museum exhibit. Welcome to a full-throttle dive into the raw, dusty, and unpredictable world of paleontology. In partnership with the Morrison Natural History Museum and the Glenrock Paleontological Museum, Dinosaur Trips is throwing you straight into the field for the real thing!

It’s a hands-on, boots-in-the-dirt experience where you learn by doing. The Triceratops Gulch Project is all about putting you in the thick of real research, working alongside museum crews to excavate the fossil-rich Upper Cretaceous Lance Formation in Wyoming. The only question is: are you ready for it?

And the adventure doesn’t stop when the dig ends. We’ve mapped out a five-day, self-drive paleo road trip throughout Wyoming and Colorado, taking you through some of the region’s most legendary paleontology museums, fossil hotspots, and jaw-dropping landscapes. Think towering badlands, sprawling prairies, and the kind of wide-open spaces that make you feel like a tiny speck in deep time. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to spot bison, pronghorn, and maybe even a modern-day dinosaur (ahem, birds).
