Dinosaur Trips Launches Bold New Campaign for Grown-Up Adventure Seekers
Dinosaurs aren’t just for kids—and never were. They’re fossilized jawbones in the badlands, field journals filled with dust and data, and the thrum of adrenaline when you pull something prehistoric from the Earth.
That’s the spirit of “Dinosaurs: Not Just For Kids”—our new campaign for adults with dirt under their nails and curiosity in their blood.
Travellers crave experiences that let them dive into natural history, human history, wildlife, museums, and discovery—palaeontology brings all of that together in one prehistoric package. And yet, somehow, dinosaurs have been relegated to the kids’ table—despite the fact that, for most of history, they captivated the adult imagination first.
It’s easy to see why dinosaurs capture kids’ imaginations. They’re massive, mysterious, and unlike anything alive today. But wonder, curiosity, the thrill of discovery—those aren’t childish impulses. They’re human ones. And maybe we bury them under emails and mortgages. But travel, at its best, digs all those feelings back up.
A New Badge of Honour
As part of the rollout, we’ve unveiled a campaign field patch designed to feel like it belongs on the side of your dusty field kit—or the back of your leather jacket. Inspired by vintage expedition patches and early 20th-century fossil hunting escapades, the design features an iconic skull and tail bones, rendered in sun-bleached tones that echo the parched earth and fossil beds of the field. It’s an emblem for those who chase real science, real adventure, and the thrill of prehistory.
The campaign is also rolling out across social media, original video content, and in-person meet-ups, bringing together curious, adventure-minded adults who still get a thrill from digging into the prehistoric past.
Earn Your Field Patch, Simply By Sharing
If you’d like to join us in putting this myth to rest, all you have to do is share the field patch (downloadable field patch can be grabbed at this link), tell folks why dinosaurs still deserve a place in grown-up imaginations, and tag @DinosaurTrips to be entered to win one of 50 limited-edition Dinosaurs: Not Just For Kids patches—the kind you’d slap on your field backpack after surviving a season in the badlands.
Host a Meet-Up!
Dinosaurs: Not Just For Kids is our rallying cry for all the grown-up dino nerds out there who never outgrew their love of the prehistoric past. If you’ve ever wanted to sip a pint while talking theropods or wander a museum with fellow fossil fiends, now’s your chance.
We’re inviting adult palaeo enthusiasts to host local meet-ups—at a brewery, a natural history museum, a bar, a park, or anywhere else you’d like to gather your kind. Think the Field Museum in Chicago, the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, your favourite local pub, or that dinosaur-themed mini-golf course you keep meaning to check out.
Sign up to let us know where you live and whether you’re keen to host or just hoping to join a meet-up in your area. It’s time to find your herd.
